Be Better Do Better Get Better
Be Better Do Better Get Better
As long as Black Americans identify with being niggas, and acting like niggas, we will continue to justify racism and the creation and execution of racist agendas and clever, misleading, legislation that will be used to oppress us all. We have to be mindful that many white Americans have little to no exposure to the personal lives and struggles of Black people.
The news media industry loves to focus on the need to reduce violent crime in our communities. The entertainment industry rewards music production that glorifies crime, violence, and the exploitation of our people. It shelves the artists who make positive music because it does not fit the narrative that is desired by the powers that be. As a result, many white Americans view poor Black America as a drain on the economy and a threat to public safety. In turn, these American's (whites, and even some Blacks) vote in support of political candidates who promise to be tough on crime. Meanwhile, these candidates are financially backed by those who profit from weaponizing the police force against Black people, and our mass incarceration. Politics will not improve the black community.
Only WE (Black People) can change this pattern by uplifting our brothers and sisters ourselves. Why are we appealing to the forces who created systemic racism, and who profit from it, to change the system for us as if we are unable to create change, success and prosperity for ourselves?
Winsome Sears pointed out to Armstrong Williams that if Black communities were thriving before the Civil Rights Act of 1963, then more of us should be successful now.
She was right!
We, as a people, need to stop depending on the government to support us, save us, improve our schools, and fight racism on our behalf. If we come together to help one another, build businesses that will employ one another, and build institutions that will educate--and meet the special developmental needs of our youth. Once we save Black children, we can fix the problem ourselves.
This is why we need the BEAU Movement!
I discovered the need for the BEAU Movement while incarcerated. Too many Black men grew up believing the media's brainwashing that we are supposed to be thugs, gangbangers, drug dealers, perpetrators of violence, and career criminals.
These beliefs lead us to imprisonment and early graves. I am ashamed that I was willingly a part of the problem. So, I came up with ways to be a part of the solution. I spent 6 years planning the operations for this business. I filed the paperwork for licensing to operate this foundation in less than 30 days after my release.
Now it is time to start making a difference in the lives of Black people who would otherwise be doomed to become products of their environment.
Louis is a friend of over 20 years. I chose him to be the first appointee to the Board of Directors because he is trustworthy and the sincerest person I know.
A Richmond, Va native and believer in our people despite the crimes he has witnessed and been a victim of. He is already working toward establishing a location where we can build a Richmond office after inception.
